LUBBOCK, Texas — Los Hermanos Familia and Latino Lubbock Magazine are bringing back their annual “Vamos a Pescar, Let’s Go Fishing” free family fishing event on Saturday, August 8 for the 17th time.
Taking place at Buddy Holly Lake located at N. University Avenue and Cesar E Chavez Drive, the event will take place from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The lake will be stocked with hungry catfish to catch and no one is required to have a fishing license during the event’s times.

All children up to 17-years-old must be accompanied by an adult. Families are encouraged to prepare for 100-plus degree weather elements, bring water, shade, sunscreen and more. Also be prepared for the rain as Lubbock’s weather can switch quickly.
Lunch will be provided for registered participants (only with the ticket provided at check-in), T-shirts will be available on-site for a $5 donation. Many other outdoor activities related to fishing and family fun will also be available…
