Lubbock City Council rejects alley paving ordinance, accepts spay and neuter grant

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock City Council voted down an ordinance that would have allowed residents to petition for alley paving in their neighborhoods.

The council held its second and final vote on the paving alley by petition ordinance. The program would have allowed property owners to start a petition on their block to hire the city to pave unpaved alleys in their neighborhoods. The council voted in opposition to the ordinance 6-1.
