LUBBOCK, Texas — In the midst of a nursing shortage in rural communities, Louise Starr remains passionate in her line of work.
“At the time when I was a nurse, everybody was white. White hats, white dresses, white stockings, white shoes. And I’m telling this is like a total new thing for nurses,” said Louise Starr, a Charge Nurse at Lubbock LTC and Rehabilitation.
Starr attended South Plains College, where she received her Licensed Vocational Nurse training. As she is coming up on 40 years in her line of profession, she explained that while this was not the first career she picked, she chose this path because of a desire to take care of people in a different way.
