Clovis victim hospitalized in Lubbock after Sunday night shooting

CLOVIS, N.M. — The Clovis Police Department confirmed that a person sustained serious injuries after reports of a shots-fired call on Sunday, according to a social media post.

Officials say that at approximately 11:57 p.m., Clovis authorities were dispatched to the 500 block of East 9th Street after initially receiving a call regarding a subject with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. When officers and emergency medical services responded, they located a 30-year-old African-American male in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. The injured victim was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center and then flown to a Lubbock, Texas hospital.
