Heavy police presence in East Lubbock after report of shooting

LUBBOCK, Texas — A heavy police presence was reported after a shooting in the 3500 block of East Baylor at 9:07 a.m. Thursday morning.

LPD confirmed a Lubbock Police Officer assigned to the TAG Center was in the area of Ironwood Ave and Baylor Street when he observed a “drive-by” shooting. Deputies immediately responded to the gunfire, along with officers from LPD and the Department of Public Safety.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office said there were no life-threatening injuries sustained during the shooting, and that multiple suspects were immediately detained due to the quick response of the deputies and officers in the area.
