If you grew up in the era of blowing into your Nintendo cartridges and arguing over whose turn it was to play next, there’s a new store in Lubbock that might send you straight back to the good old days.
Nerd Pocket, located at 4130 34th Street, is a locally owned gaming store that specializes in retro games, collectibles, consoles, and more. The store also buys, sells, and trades gaming items, giving Lubbock gamers a chance to hunt down those badass games they haven’t seen in decades, or finally get rid of a console collecting dust in the closet.
Store owner Jenny Valdez says that the goal is much more than simply selling games.
“More than anything, we want Nerd Pocket to be a fun local store for Lubbock’s gaming community.”
And that’s exactly the type of place it is. It’s a place for you to introduce your old favorites to your kids, or even just a great place to relive a little of your childhood nostalgia through games…
