LUBBOCK, Texas — Gerado Mata,35, was sentenced Tuesday afternoon to 8 years Texas Department of Criminal Justice and 343 days of jail credit for Indecency with a Child with Sexual Contact. He must also register as a sex offender.
EverythingLubbock.com previously reported that a child younger than 12 years old made an outcry to a family member. The child said Mata inappropriately touched her, and when he tried to take it further, she pushed his hands away.
According to court records, Mata told the witness something to the effect of, “Whatever the child told her, he did not do it.”…
