Warner was initially accused of arson and burglary. Back in July of 2022, the Schlotzky’s in the 3700 block of 19th Street was burglarized and vandalized twice. The owner told police the suspect stole paychecks from the owner’s desk and broke the glass on the door during the first burglary. The suspect also left a note indicating he would come back.

“Leave $5,000 cash on this desk overnight on the night of 7/17 if you do I will bring all your devices if you don’t you’ll regret it.”

After the first burglary, the owners installed motion-activated cameras. Warner was caught on camera and recognized by an officer.

The arson happened on August 2 around 2:38 a.m. Authorities said Warner broke into the business, set it on fire and left the scene.
