LUBBOCK, Texas — A new look for Broadway Street is underway, with Construction Set to begin the second week of July after the $17,000,000 road bond passed in 2024 was approved.
The 0.8-mile stretch will be split into four sections between Avenue Q and Avenue E, each being a quarter or less in length.
The City’s engineer said they will start with utilities for the first couple of months.
“At the beginning of the project, what you’re going to see out here is basically a lot of utility work. A lot of what we’ve chosen is underground utility work,” said John Turpin, Division Director of Engineering and City Engineer.

They have selected their proposed contractor, Ti-Zack Concrete, and will take the construction plan to the City Council in June for approval…
