‘Operation Hub City Shield’: An effort to crack down on violent crimes in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A collaborative effort between federal, state and local law enforcement is underway in Lubbock, targeting violent criminals through the summer.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas announced Operation Hub City Shield, which aims to address violent crime on the South Plains. Lubbock saw a nearly 20 percent decrease in violent crimes from 2024 to 2025.

“Through this operation, we are targeting violent criminals, human traffickers, drug dealers and those who commit firearm offenses,” said Ryan Rabould, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas. “It has already been an extraordinary success.”…
