MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Dane County Sheriff’s Office has launched a traffic safety initiative in the town of Blooming Grove, focusing enforcement efforts in high-risk areas identified through crash data across the community.
Officials say the initiative uses a Data-Driven Approach to Crime and Traffic Safety (DDACTS) model, targeting locations based on patterns in crash data from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. One example is the Milwaukee Street and Fair Oaks corridor, which has had 416 crashes reported since 2020, and 125 people injured in those crashes.
