Community tips lead to quick arrests in Madison shooting, Monona armed suspect case

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Two dangerous incidents in the Madison area ended with suspects in custody, and police say community members who spoke up made the difference.

Madison police arrested a suspect, accused of shooting a man on the city’s north side, in eight minutes on Sunday.

A 54-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and had serious injuries. Madison police responded, treated the victim and talked to witnesses before taking a suspect into custody. The suspect is booked on attempted intentional homicide charges.

“They talked to multiple people who were in the area. They were able to identify a suspect pretty quickly based off the information that they received from those who were at the apartment area,” said Stephanie Fryer, Madison Police Department public information officer…
