Wisconsin athletes dominate as 2,000+ athletes take on IRONMAN 70.3

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Thousands of athletes competed in IRONMAN 70.3 Rockford Sunday, completing a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and 13.1-mile run through the Stateline area.

The race began at 7 a.m. in the Rock River before athletes headed north on the bike course and returned downtown for the final 13.1-mile run. The swim took competitors through downtown Rockford, while the bike course stretched more than 56 miles through northern Winnebago County. Athletes finished with a half marathon along both sides of the Rock River.
