Habitat for Humanity and Two Men and a Junk Truck collect furniture and electronics for Madison families

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Habitat for Humanity and Two Men and a Junk Truck held a joint donation drive Saturday morning in Madison, collecting old furniture and electronics to benefit local families.

Crews helped unload drop-offs and sorted donations to be recycled, refurbished, or restored. Organizers offered free food, prizes, and activities to encourage participation.

Anything salvageable will be sent to Habitat’s ReStore, where items are resold at a discount. Organizers said some donations from Saturday’s drive could be on shelves as soon as next week.

Habitat for Humanity leaders said community support drives their mission, and they hope the partnership brings in new volunteers, donors, and future partners.

“If you want to get involved with Habitat for Humanity, there is a ton of ways to do that. You can volunteer, donate, and shop at our ReStore,” said Gabriella Gerhardt, Vice President of Development at Dane County Habitat for Humanity. “And so, we hope that you come out, and then also if you want to partner with us like Two Men and a Truck, there’s tons of opportunities. Reach out, we would love to hear from you. We couldn’t do the work that we do without the community.”…
