MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a man who they said threw a gun at a group of children during a chase on the city’s east side Tuesday evening.
Police said officers were conducting a traffic stop on a suspected gang member at around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Washington Ave. and North Fair Oaks Ave. when a passenger in the back seat ran from the vehicle.
The man reportedly ran through the nearby Rise Apartments complex and, at one point, tossed away a loaded handgun near a group of children playing in the yard. Officers later recovered the weapon and found that it was an untraceable “ghost gun,” modified to be fully automatic…
