MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Six days after Madison police shot and killed Corey Ruiz, questions about what comes next remain unanswered as the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation continues its investigation.
A memorial at the intersection of Williamson and South Baldwin streets continues to grow. City trucks have blocked off the area, creating space for a grieving community — but city officials have said the closure cannot be permanent.
City declines interview requests
The city told WMTV its sole focus right now is figuring out how to move forward.
Requests for an interview with Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway have been declined, though the city did respond to some questions. The city said she hopes to be available for interviews soon…
