Odana Hills Golf Course and Park, located just off of the Beltline on the west side, is Madison’s highest traffic and highest revenue public course – with over 50,000 rounds last year alone. But the 18-hole course and its clubhouse, built in 1956, are falling into disrepair.
Madison Parks official Lisa Laschinger outlined the biggest problems at a public information meeting last week.
“We have drainage issues, we have some fairway concerns. There’s not a lot of variety in the current design. Our driving range is not long enough for many golfers to be able to use their drivers. The clubhouse isn’t as inviting for non-golfers – it’s not as inviting as we would like for it to be,” Laschinger explained. “And then we do recognize there’s conflicts at the main entrance between cars, bikes, and pedestrians.”…
