MADISN, Wis. — Nobody was hurt after a vehicle fire near East Towne Mall Thursday night, a Madison Fire Department spokesperson said.
A witness reported the fire just before 8:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of East Towne Blvd. No smoke was showing from outside when firefighters arrived, but the windows were fogged and hot to the touch.
Firefighters removed the driver and passenger-side windows to access the car, and found heavy smoke in the passenger area. Fire was found near the gear shift. That fire was put out and the vehicle’s battery was disconnected…
