MADISON, Wis. — A tree was struck by lightning on Madison’s south side Sunday morning near Quann Park.
The Madison Fire Department was dispatched to the 1800 block of Baird Street at around 11:46 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a large tree actively smoking, but there were no visible flames. A fresh lightning strike path was observed extending from the top of the tree to the base, with bark debris scattered throughout the backyard…
