Late-Night Plunge At MARTA Airport Station Stuns Travelers

Emergency crews rushed to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport late Tuesday after a man went over the edge of the elevated MARTA Airport Station platform and landed on the street below. Firefighters found him not breathing, started life-saving measures on the scene, and then took him to Grady Memorial Hospital. Officials later said he was in stable condition.

Atlanta Fire Rescue Department crews were called to the airport at about 11 p.m. Tuesday and began treatment before transporting the man to Grady for further evaluation, according to Atlanta News First. The outlet reports that MARTA police said the man walked to the south end of the Airport Station platform and jumped, landing on the street below. He was conscious when crews took him from the scene.
