MARIETTA — The Cobb County Board of Commissioners approved a concept plan for a new roundabout and road realignment at Villa Rica and Irwin roads Tuesday, advancing a project county officials say is needed to address longstanding traffic and safety concerns.
In a 4-0 vote, with Commissioner Erick Allen absent, the board authorized a proposed plan that would reroute Irwin Road to the intersection of West Sandtown Road and Addie Pond Way, shifting its connection away from Villa Rica Road.
