Arrest Made in Midtown Atlanta Shooting; Case Reclassified as Justifiable Homicide

ATLANTA — A suspect has been taken into custody and another has surrendered in connection with a March 30 shooting that left one man dead and two others injured, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Cortez Watkins, 24, was apprehended May 5 by the department’s Fugitive Unit at a Georgia Department of Community Supervision office. He is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

A second individual, Erica Norwood, 33, turned herself in to the Fulton County Jail on May 4. She faces charges of two counts of possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence…
