This weekend is Grant Park’s 143rd birthday, and the Grant Park Conservatory is celebrating in a big way! Fans of Grant Park’s Market in the Park can expect a special birthday bash for the city’s oldest park… complete with a collective singing of ‘Happy Birthday’ and everything! Keep scrolling for all the details.
What can guests expect at Market in the Park?
Market in the Park is the perfect way to start (or continue!) your Sunday. Free to enter, you and your friends, family or S.O. can peruse amazing local goods made by artisan crafters, local food vendors, and so much more!
May’s food lineup includes a notable first for Atlanta-based Big Softie, which will make its first-ever appearance at an event outside of its brick-and-mortar locations, serving up its specialty ice cream sandwiches. Returning favorites, including Sweet Auburn Barbecue, Tio Lucho’s Hermanita pop-up, Georgia Proud Provisions showcasing the season’s best Georgia peaches, and Plump Pressed Juice will also be in the mix, alongside additional local vendors offering coffee, baked goods, and easy, market-friendly bites.
Here are some of the highlights:
- local artisans
- vintage finds
- plants
- handmade goods
- fresh flowers
- produce
- home décor
- jewelry
- live music
And this Market in the Park is special because before the afternoon unfolds, the celebration hits a high note at 11 a.m.
In honor of Grant Park’s 143rd birthday, the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Chorus will join live band Bolo Boys for a community sing-along of “Happy Birthday” to the park, adding a lively, feel-good moment to the day’s festivities.
Okay, okay! I’m in! Gimme the details.
