Just days before Fulton County’s advance-voting period wraps up, two busy early-voting sites have gone dark for repairs, sending regulars scrambling for backup options. The East Point Library and the Northwest Library at Scotts Crossing have both been taken offline, leaving nearby voters to find new spots ahead of Friday’s deadline.
County posts closure notice
Fulton County’s Registration & Elections office quietly updated its site to announce that the East Point and Northwest (Scotts Crossing) advance-voting locations are closed “for the remainder of the Advance Voting period,” according to Fulton County. The county’s early-voting page now points residents to dozens of alternate polling places and directs them to its locator tool and the Fulton Votes app for real-time updates.
In its notice, the county apologized for the inconvenience and urged voters who typically rely on the shuttered branches to head to another nearby advance-voting site during the remaining hours this week.
What officials told Channel 2
County officials told WSB‑TV that the Northwest Library in Bankhead had to close so crews could fix an HVAC chiller outage. The East Point Library, they said, was shut down last Thursday after staff flagged a safety hazard that needed repairs.
According to the station, the county has not offered a timetable for when either site might reopen, and election staff are steering voters to other advance-voting locations instead.

Even with two closures, Fulton’s advance-voting map is far from empty.
