Cobb County sheriff’s sergeant helps woman in labor reach hospital for safe delivery

A Cobb County sheriff’s sergeant helped a woman in active labor reach the hospital in time to safely deliver her baby after being flagged down during his morning commute, authorities said.

Sgt. Fraser with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office was on his way to work when a pedestrian alerted him to a vehicle stopped in traffic where a woman was in labor in the back seat. Officials said traffic in the area was heavily congested, and the situation quickly became urgent.

After learning the woman’s water had broken, Fraser determined the baby could be delivered at any moment. He activated his emergency equipment and escorted the vehicle through traffic to a nearby hospital…
