Fatal crash on I-75 South under investigation by Marietta police

MARIETTA, Ga. — A Marietta police traffic unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred just before 1 a.m. Friday on Interstate 75 South near the bridge over North Marietta Parkway.

Police said an earlier wreck had shut down all southbound lanes for several hours. When traffic was stopped, a tractor-trailer driven by 29-year-old Mayki Marcelin of Davenport, Fla., was halted on the bridge with surrounding vehicles.

After the roadway reopened, police said Marcelin remained stopped as traffic began moving again. Another tractor-trailer, driven by 35-year-old Daniel Granados of Fort Lauderdale, was traveling south in the same lane and swerved to avoid the stopped truck, grazing its left side…
