In opening arguments on Thursday, prosecutors wasted no time going after Karmelo Anthony.
Anthony is the 19-year-old Texas teenager currently on trial in Collin County, Texas, for the first-degree murder of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf. He was 17 at the time. He is accused of fatally stabbing Metcalf in the chest during an argument over seating at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas. Anthony’s defense attorney, Mike Howard, maintains that Anthony acted in self-defense after feeling threatened during an altercation.
However, the prosecution is painting a much different story, and that includes his behavior following the stabbing.
