McKinney’s Sunset Amphitheater is getting closer to opening, but the $330 million project needs another financial boost to reach the finish line. VENU, the company behind the 20,000-seat concert venue, is seeking $60 million in additional private funding as construction moves toward completion.
McKinney City Council approved a measure on Oct. 5 that allows VENU to pursue a sale-leaseback arrangement as part of its updated agreement with the city. The proposed deal would involve Store Capital and would give VENU another way to finance the remaining work on the project.
A Bigger Project Comes With A Bigger Price Tag
