Serial robber who targeted Memphis, Bartlett gas stations sentenced to federal prison

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A serial robber who targeted gas stations in Memphis and Bartlett in five separate armed heists has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.

Federal prosecutors announced the sentence against 28-year-old Laquarius King on Monday.

King pleaded guilty in February to five counts of robbery and two counts of discharging a firearm.

“King’s violent crime spree is over,” said U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant. “His lifestyle of lawlessness and selfish greed terrorized multiple victims – and has rightly earned him a long sentence in a federal prison that will remove him from the community and protect Memphians.”…
