Group wants SpaceX off Memphis aquifer soon

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Protecting the Memphis aquifer remains a top priority for Memphians, as questions remain over stalled construction on a greywater recycling facility.

The nonprofit Protect Our Aquifer says it’s time for xAI, which is now part of SpaceX, to establish a clear, construction timeline — especially because Memphis’ aquifer is currently being used to cool the supercomputer, Colossus 1.

Memphis is known for having some of the highest-quality drinking water in the country, and it’s all thanks to the Memphis aquifer, which not only supplies water to people, but industries too…
