MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A world-famous soul food restaurant in Downtown Memphis went all out for Juneteenth celebrations this year.
Alcenia’s was adorned inside and out with black, red and green on Friday, complete with Juneteenth tablecloths, balloons, napkins and more.
“Each year, I’m trying to get bigger and bigger, and get more involved for Juneteenth,” said Alcenia’s owner, Betty Joyce “Miss BJ” Chester-Tamayo.
