Woman charged with striking motorcycle officer, leading to police pursuit

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is facing several charges after allegedly striking a motorcycle officer in the Medical District, then leading police on a pursuit to South Memphis on Thursday.

Teerika Settles, 30, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer to wit Motor Vehicle, Criminal Impersonation, Failure to Exercise Due Care, Driving While License Sus/Rev/, Evading Arrest to wit Motor Vehicle, Violation of Financial Law, Reckless Driving, and Violation of Vehicle Registration Law and Vandalism $1,000-$,2500, police said.

Memphis Police say the officer was conducting a traffic stop at Eastmoreland and South Pauline just after 1 p.m.

During the stop, police say the driver attempted to flee, then stopped and put the car in reverse, intentionally striking the officer.
