MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – She weighs just over two pounds, but Sylvie Stevens has already moved an entire Mid-South community.
Sylvie was born in June at just 25 weeks — about four months before her due date. At birth, her mother, Presley Stevens, said Sylvie weighed only one pound. Now, she is spending her first weeks of life in the NICU at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, fighting for every ounce.
“I never in my life dreamed I would be in this position,” Presley said.
For the Stevens family, life changed in an instant. Instead of settling into newborn life at home, they have settled into a new routine: hospital visits, long drives and waiting for updates on Sylvie’s progress…
