We’re beginning the day with a Heat Advisory that takes effect at 10:00 AM for DeSoto, Tate, and Panola Counties, as well as counties along the Mississippi River in Mississippi. This afternoon’s combination of heat and humidity will push heat index values above 106 degrees, so be sure to limit prolonged outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and take frequent breaks if you’re working outside.
For today, expect mostly sunny skies with a high temperature near 96 degrees. Winds will be out of the west at 5 to 10 mph, and while most locations remain dry, there is a 20% chance of an isolated afternoon thunderstorm. Tonight will remain very warm and muggy with a low around 79 degrees…
