MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Testimony is set to begin on Friday for two of nine former Shelby County jailers charged in the death of inmate Gershun Freeman nearly four years ago. A jury was selected in the case on Thursday.
Stevon Jones and Courtney Parham are both facing charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault resulting in the death of another.

The moments leading up to Freeman’s in-custody death in October of 22 were captured on camera.
Freeman, who was naked at the time, could be seen on video getting kicked, punched, and pepper sprayed.
