MONDAY: FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY continues to start off the new work week as highs make another run the upper 90s by afternoon under mostly to partly sunny skies. ‘Feels like’ temps running near 105-110 degrees. A weak front sagging into northern areas may spark a few isolated afternoon downpours, which could bring brief localized relief. Lows overnight will remain warm in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
TUESDAY: A subtle drop in humidity and light northerly winds on Tuesday may offer slight relief, with some areas north and east of Memphis a few degrees off the past few days run toward 100º. Highs stay in the middle to upper 90s, with partly cloudy skies.
EXTENDED: Highs could make another run for 100º for Wednesday ahead of a chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday into Friday. Behind the front, high pressure shifts west, bringing a welcome drop in temperatures back toward seasonable levels next weekend alongside lower humidity. More heat could be looming toward late August, with more highs in the middle 90s…
