MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man who died in an encounter with the Memphis Safe Task Force was killed by a shot from an officer, not by self-inflicted wounds, an autopsy report indicates.
The report, completed Aug. 17 and released Friday, states Jonah Neal was killed by a gunshot wound to the neck, “and the manner of death is homicide.”
Neal, 25, died May 20 after Memphis Police and task force members responded to a report that an armed, suicidal man was harming himself at an address on Westchester in northeast Memphis.
