MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County Sheriff Anthony Buckner announced Tuesday that Terry Miller is the Interim Chief Jailer of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
“I am pleased to welcome Chief Terry Miller back to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office to serve as our Interim Chief Jailer,” said Sheriff Anthony Buckner. “Chief Miller understands this agency, he understands the jail, and most importantly, he understands the responsibility we have to provide a safe, secure and professionally managed environment for our employees and those entrusted to our custody. His experience will provide valuable leadership as we continue the work of strengthening our jail operations.”
Sheriff Buckner said Miller’s appointment is intended to provide experienced leadership and continuity while the Sheriff’s Office continues its national search for the next permanent Chief Jailer. Miller will start his position on October 1.
