MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department is going after the city’s most violent domestic offenders by bringing federal charges against them.
MPD said it has partnered up with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee to identify the city’s most violent and repeat domestic violence offenders and build the strongest possible cases through coordinated enforcement.
As part of the Memphis Police Department’s Domestic Violence Prolific Offender Initiative, six domestic violence cases have been accepted for federal prosecution. This effort aims to hold the city’s most violent offenders accountable and prioritize the protection of victims, said MPD.
