Slow-Moving Front Brings Several Waves of Rain and Storm Chances

Good morning, everyone. We’re tracking a slow-moving cold front stretching from Kansas into Missouri this morning, and that system is going to be the main weather maker for us over the next couple of days. It’s already pushing a few showers toward the Mid-South early today, but the bigger story is how slowly this front moves—bringing multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms, along with the potential for some heavier downpours and a few strong storms.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed almost all of Arkansas in a slight risk for severe weather later today, and most of Mississippi has a slight risk for severe weather on Wednesday.

For today, expect mostly cloudy skies with about a 60% chance of showers through the morning hours. We’ll likely catch a bit of a break in the activity this afternoon before rain chances ramp back up late tonight and into early Wednesday.
