Memphis woman accused of trying to run over child’s father, grandmother

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is facing multiple felony charges, including attempted second-degree murder, after investigators say she tried to run over the father of her child and his mother during a domestic dispute near Orange Mound.

According to an affidavit, officers with the Memphis Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call around 12:30 a.m. Friday at a home in the 3200 block of Park Avenue.

Investigators say 21-year-old Jashunte Lewis arrived at the residence in a white 2020 Chevy Malibu and got into a verbal argument with the father of her child in the driveway.

During the dispute, the man reportedly walked behind Lewis’ vehicle when she allegedly reversed and nearly hit him. Investigators say the man then moved in front of the vehicle, where Lewis allegedly attempted to strike him again…
