VIDEO: Dog rescued from 132-degree car in Chandler

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A one-year-old dog is recovering after being rescued from a parked vehicle that reached a dangerous 132 degrees, according to Chandler police.

As temperatures continue to climb across the Valley, officials said the incident serves as another reminder never to leave children or pets inside a parked car, even for a short period of time. Temperatures inside vehicles can rise rapidly and become deadly within minutes.

Chandler officers responded to the situation on May 11 just after 1 p.m. and safely removed the dog from the vehicle. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw the dog panting in the back seat.
