Frank and Lupe’s, the family-owned Mexican restaurant that was an Old Town Scottsdale destination for over 30 years, has returned under new ownership after the original Scottsdale location closed in September 2025.
The restaurant is now open in Gainey Ranch under the leadership of a new owner, Piero Aviles. Aviles said he has kept the heart of the restaurant the same, based on the legacy and recipes of Frank and Maria “Lupe” Bernal.
“Frank & Lupe’s has always been about heart, hospitality and honest food,” Aviles said in a news release. “We’re not changing what works. Lupe’s recipes, her traditions and her standards are still at the center of everything we do.”…
