15-year-old boy faces charges after mass shooting at Glendale’s Westgate

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A 15-year-old boy is facing charges after police said five people were shot Saturday night at Glendale’s Westgate Entertainment District.

Sgt. Bryan Hoskin said Monday that the Phoenix teen was with his family near the fountain near 91st and Glendale avenues around 9 p.m. when he saw some classmates.

A heated argument and a fight broke out, and that’s when the boy fired his gun multiple times, Hoskin said. Five people were shot, including the suspect’s two sisters, one of whom was 8 years old.

Four of the victims were in the group, while the fifth person was grazed by a bullet and not involved…
