With one symbolic gesture, Dr. Shane McCord’s tenure as superintendent of Gilbert Public Schools officially came to an end.
At the district’s June 23 Governing Board meeting, McCord removed his own nameplate from the dais and replaced it with one bearing the name of his successor, Dr. Jared Ryan, marking the official transition after nine years leading one of Arizona’s largest K-12 districts.
