PHOENIX (AZFamily) — New body-camera video released Friday shows officers opening fire on a man with a knife who was running toward another person outside of a west Phoenix home.
Moments before the shooting, Phoenix police responded to a family fight at a home near 35th Avenue and Greenway Road around 11 p.m. on June 28. A 911 caller reported that two people were fighting and one was trying to stab the other, officials said.
Officers got to the scene and were speaking to a woman when a man, identified as Xavier Alexander Aguirre, 22, came out of the house with a knife. Aguirre started chasing another man who had been standing in the driveway, video shows. Officers then opened fire on Aguirre…
