Monsoon thunderstorms that developed around the Valley late Thursday and early Friday were not as widespread as expected, but some areas got a good soaking.
The heaviest pockets, with over an inch of rainfall, were in Mesa, Apache Junction, Scottsdale and Fountain Hills. The storm activity triggered a series of flash flood warnings that expired overnight.
