MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A driver blamed an urgent bodily need for why he was going nearly twice the speed limit on an East Valley freeway, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said Thursday.
Investigators said in a social media post that Sunday, a trooper first spotted the driver going 106 mph and eventually hitting 112 mph in a 65 mph zone on the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway.
The trooper pulled him over near McKellips Road. The driver said he was speeding because he had to use the bathroom, DPS said. However, the trooper reminded him he had passed several restroom stops along the freeway…
