A 23-year-old Avondale man is being held on $100,000 bond after Scottsdale police say he attempted to exploit someone he believed was a 15-year-old juvenile. Scottsdale police detectives identified Vitela as the suspect after an investigation that began with inappropriate online communications involving someone represented as a minor, according to KTAR News 92.3 FM. He was booked on suspicion of luring a minor for sexual exploitation, attempted sexual conduct with a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said.
Detectives served multiple search warrants in connection with the case, including the one executed Wednesday at Vitela’s Avondale residence.
