An Arizona 13-year-old faces a misdemeanor assault charge after authorities say he and two friends cornered his ex-girlfriend during gym class and pelted her with dodgeballs hard enough to send her to the hospital.
According to a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office report obtained by Phoenix TV station KTVK, the boy, identified as Abel Schipper, and his friends were throwing foam dodgeballs at the girl at Mayer High School in December 2025.
Two days after the game, the sheriff’s office received a tip from a social worker saying the boys intentionally went after the girl with dodgeballs once she came out of a bathroom, leading to her hospitalization.
